Neal's mission call!!

We got Neal's mission call in the mail today and as Aaron put it "he freaked out". So we just had a conference call with everyone so he could ease his mind and open it.

Dancing

Here is a funny video I took of Travis and Whitney dancing. He's got moves - just like his father :) It's pretty funny to watch him go in circles whenever he hears music. He is at such a cute stage now - I love how he is discovering how to communicate and do things like push all the buttons on the TV.

Babysitting adventures

Yesterday Me and Aaron decided to celebrate the last day of January and go out on a date (ok - maybe that wasn't the reason - but It was part of my reasoning). I am so lucky to have a sister-in-law like Bethany who is our babysitter. It is so nice to leave and know the kids are probably more safe with her than me or Aaron!! We went to Olive Garden - definately one of my favorites and then to a ward activity and then to Aaron's basketball game. I wasn't going to post about our date - but when I got my camera out this morning to take some video of my kids - I found that Bethany had taken some pretty funny/cute pictures. Here is a glimpse of their adventure - no wonder my kids love her!

The real reason I was going to blog was to show this video that I should've captured a while ago - it show my little midget boy dismounting off the couch. I wish he did it over the arm of the couch because it is hillarious to watch him gradually slide his grip down the couch until his little legs touch!

My bed is broken

We have been really lucky - ever since Whitney started sleeping though the night at a year old she has been such a great sleeper. She doesn't even complain when it's bed time. But sometimes she does funny things at night. She has a Queen size bed and yet insists on sleeping on the edge of it - mostly because all of her "friends" (princesses, mickey and minnie, and stuffed animals take up the rest of the bed). The other night she was crying and saying something so Aaron went to check on her. Aaron got a good laugh when he found Whitney laying on the floor and crying saying "Daddy my bed is broken". Apperantly she wasn't very aware of what really happened. So when we need a good laugh we picture whitney doing this.

snow day

The Last couple days it has snowed. We are definately feeling a little locked indoors these days, so despite the colds and runny noses we ventured outside. It was really fun - I love playing in the snow, as long as I don't have to carry a crying 30 lb. snow suit while doing so. Whitney definately was entertained eating the snow and the icicles she found. My favorite though was watching Travis walk around in his snow suit. I was really impressed at how well he got around - since he was almost as wide as he is tall. It was hard not to just laugh at him the whole time.

It's the most horrible time of the year

Alright - I know the title is a little harsh, and I'm one to usually try and be optimistic but I'll be the first to say that "The Most Wonderful Time of the year" (which for me would be summer time!) is always followed by the worst month of the year - January. I'm sorry if your birthday, anniversary, or other important day is in January - it is nothing against you, but truly I wouldn't mind skipping January every year. Sadly one of my goals this year was to approach January with a optimistic attitude and just enjoy what I have - which has made this January much better than others. In Junior High and High School I always had Basketball to keep me busy, but now it's a different story. Luckily I have great kids to keep me entertained and a great family to play with. Plus we had a good enough Christmas that we are still entertained with our Christmas toys. If I could only track down a wii!!!

OK - so this month isn't really that bad, as long as I don't think about a warm tropical place and surfing! I know you all will laugh at me that I wanted this for Christmas - but the Ripstick I got from Santa has provided endless entertainment for a lot of people. It's is so fun and for a split second, whomever is riding it feels young again - until they biff. So here is some video of Jeff and Me "street surfing" in our basement. Whitney is getting good enough on her rollerblades that just maybe soon I'll post her on here rollerblading. She'll show you some of her dance moves at the end of the video - stay tuned!

My little big Boy

Travis is almost 11 months now and is getting so big - and yet is still a little midget. He got his first haircut about a week ago. It wasn't extremely long but enough for a little buzzing. Here is the before and after. He is obviously happier with shorter hair :)

These are Travis' new play stations. Either in the dishwasher - his favorite, or in the shoe rack. Really he is everywhere now that he is walking.

Pretty much the day we came home from the holidays Travis decided 'I'm home now so I can start walking.' He started the day we got back and is pretty impressive now. He beat Whitney walking by about 3 weeks and set the new record at 10 1/2 months! He is that much happier now that he is walking and it is so much fun to watch this little body (with such little legs!) try to keep up with everyone. Aaron's favorite is to make the "I'm going to get to noise" and watch Travis try to speed away. He's getting pretty darn good. Here is some video of the little midget walking.
