Halloweenie

We had a great Halloween. Oh the fun of free candy brings back so many memories!! I still get the urge to run from house to house to max out time when taking my kids trick-or-treating. We were out for an hour and a half until Whitney was so tired that she sat down on the sidewalk and started looking at her candy. I had to laugh, and realize that I had definately done my job - wear the kids out.

Whitney wanted to be sleeping beauty. Who knows how I got a kid that want to be a princess for halloween, honestly....a PRINCESS, I guess sometimes they are pretty scary. I had to add a wig to make it seem a little halloweenish. For the first year Whitney had no hesitation saying trick or treat at the door. Last year she figured it out and I think has rehearsed it over and over again in her mind.

Travis went as tigger, since we already had a tigger costume that fit, and he could care less. I suppose he should've gone as a princess, then it would've been scary! He was pretty funny trick-or-treating. From the first house he decided he was going to hold all of his candy. Unless I got it for him at the house because he was eating a piece, he figured a way to fit more into his hands. He was so sticky when we got back due to eating who knows how many suckers while we were out.

Here's a picture of our house, which I hope will get more and more decked out as the years go by.

Hee Haw it's Friday

Last Friday we had a little family Halloween party. We started off by getting all of us halloween t-shirts and then we went to Hee Haw farms. I thought our kids would really enjoy it, but that was an understatement. You would've thought they were at Disneyland. Our favorite thing at Hee Haws last year proved to be our favorite attraction once again. It's this massive slide they make. The kids could've done this for hours, even Travis was addicted and braved it by himself

The kids also loved seeing all the animals, riding the train, and doing the corn maze. Whitney pretty much ran through the entire corn maze, it was a project trying to keep up, we just kept telling her she was going the wrong way until we could catch up :) The kids were in absolute heaven and I was enjoying a gorgeous fall day.

Afterwards we went to Red Robin. The kids were so hungry and Travis wanted fries so bad that after the long wait, when the fries finally came he shouted out "FRIES" at the top of his lungs about 5 times. Pretty much he showed how all of us felt. I couldn't help but laugh. So there you have it our family halloween party.

biker dude

Recently my kids have been playing together. How nice it is!! I'm pretty sure this is the whole reason we had Travis - to play with Whitney and keep her entertained :) I love watching them wrestle or chase each other and make each other laugh. Here is some video of doing one of Travis' favorites, jumping of the Tramp with a bunch of balls.

In other news I think Travis is preparing to go on a cross country bike tour with his cousin Reagan. About a month ago he found out that his legs are finally long enough to push himself on a bike (close to the pedals...but not quite there yet). It's finally slowing down a little bit but for those first 2 weeks he screamed any time I tried to get him off the bike or even change his direction. Here is some video of him trying to cruise.

My buddy

Today Whitney got to go to a Halloween party for playgroup. Travis absolutely hates playgroup because he is not invited and loses his friend sister. I decided to utilize a beautiful day and try to distract Travis by going to the bridge and throwing rocks into the river. I didn't even need a plan - this kid is a nature kid. We finally made it home after a 75 min. walk, then I did yard work while he wandered and discovered dirt, rocks, weeds, and daisy (our neighbors dog that Travis LOVES) for another 75 min.

First he found a dog....

I love his "seriously business" face, definately gets that from his dad
Travis is obsessed with these things. Somehow, wherever we go he finds them and gets so excited. He just learned yesterday how to blow on them and make it dissappear.
then he found a cat...
then we finally made it to the bridge...

then he wandered off and found a stick...

and some more rocks.

then mom couldn't take it anymore and walked him back to the wagon (wich I pulled empty the whole time!) It was worth it because I got a big long hug from him.

Before we picked up Whitney I decided to cut Travis' hair. Since he was actually sitting mostly still this time I buzzed him in hopes that I wouldn't have to do another hair cut in a while - but it was sad to see all that cute hair go.
